Your tasks
Within the IT Trading department, we are currently looking for a Domain Architect to join our busy and dynamic Front Office and Analytics team in Karlsruhe, Germany.  You will be an asset to our team if you have a deep understanding of business processes and common IT systems prevalent in European commodity trading. In this role your main responsibilities will be as follows: 

  • Architecture Planning: Analyze business and IT strategies, goals, and requirements to develop a strategic technology architecture blueprint
  • Solution Design: Develop solutions that address complex business problems or challenges. Prior experience in doing build vs buy evaluations in the front office and risk areas within commodity trading
  • Solution Governance: Govern technology standards, guidelines, and best practices for projects within the front office and analytics cluster
  • Technology Evaluation and Research: Knowledge of emerging technologies (cloud, data, AI), industry trends, and best practices
Your profile
Who are we looking for? Someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, who can impress and convince others, but is also quite sensitive to current trends and changing needs. If you have proven experience in the following domains, we should get to know each other: 

  • Experience of working in commodity trading companies with proven background in gas, power, coal, and LNG commodities
  • Experience with multiple ETRM systems would be preferred. Knowledge of Endur and Beacon would be preferable
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman)
  • Experience in solution design, system integration, and software development
  • Knowledge of security principles and practices
  • Deep technological knowledge of cloud technologies and services, and experience in building data lakes, data warehouses etc
